
Sales tax income for local entities continues to rise in the months after Tropical Storm Harvey. The Texas Comptroller’s Office has sent money to the entities covering sales for the month of March.
The payments are:
Bridge City (1.5 percent sales tax): $180,158 for the month and $768,121 for the year to date, a 28.8 percent increase from the same time last year.
Orange (1.5 percent sales tax): $547,733 for the month and $2.38 million for the year to date, a 27.9 percent increase from the same time last year.
Pinehurst (1.5 percent sales tax): $66,640 for the month and $300,727 for the year to date, a 20.27 percent increase from the same time last year.
Vidor (1.5 percent sales tax): $307,722 for the month and $1.3 million for the year to date, a 24 percent increase from the same time last year.
West Orange (1.25 percent sales tax): $124,714 for the month and $562,784 for the year to date, a 12.9 percent increase from the same time last year.
Orange County (0.5 percent sales tax): $523,444 for the month and $2.33 million for the year to date, a 32.56 percent increase from the same time last year.
Emergency Services District 3 Little Cypress Fire and Rescue (1.5 percent sales tax): $19,338 for the month and $83,400 for the year to date, a 7.74 percent increase from the same time last year.
