
As sales have slowed down after Tropical Storm Harvey two years ago, sales tax income to local entities is slightly going down, but some have had small increases.
Pinehurst had the largest drop in monthly sales tax returns from July compared to July of 2018. The city had a 24.72 percent decrease, but is down only 5.29 percent for the year to date.
The Texas Comptrollers Office has sent the payments to:
Bridge City (1.5 percent sales tax):$133,225 for the month, compared to $141,386 last year, a decrease of 5.77 percent. $1.33 million for the year to date, compared to $1.38 million last year, a decrease of 3.61 percent.
Orange (1.5 percent sales tax): $390,885 for the month, compared to $38,652 for last year, an increase of 2.86 percent. $3.86 million for the year to date, compared to $4.1 million last year, a decrease of 5.85 percent.
Pinehurst (1.5 percent sales tax): $38,327 for the month, compared to $51,599 last year, a decrease of 25.72 percent. $501,406 for the year to date, compared to $529,458 last year, a decrease of 5.29 percent.
Vidor (1.5 percent sales tax): $259,710 for the month, comparted to $229,276 last year, an increase of 13.27 percent. $2.38 million for the year to date, compared to $2.282 million last year, an increase of 4.33 percent.
West Orange (1.25 percent sales tax): $101,634 for the month, compared to $98,306 last year, an increase of 3.38 percent. $884,630 for the year to date, compared to $947,600 last year, a decrease of 6.64 percent.
Orange County (0.5 percent sales tax): $404,563 for the month, compared to $437,878 for last year, a decrease of 6.97 percent. $4.02 million for the year to date, compared to $4.07 million last year, a decrease of 1.42 percent.
Emergency Services District 3 (Little Cypress Fire Department) (1.5 percent sales tax): $15,685 for the month, compared to $16,048 last year, a decrease of 2.25 percent. $130,750 for the year to date, compared to $145,825 last year, a decrease of 10.33 percent.
