
Ronald Cappy Ricks, affectionately known as Ron and Ronny, was born on November 11, 1944, and passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on September 11, 2025, in Baton Rouge, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Willis “Cappy” and Billie Bess “BeBe” Ricks, and brother, Scott Ricks.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ricks; his daughters, Amy England, Madeleine Ricks, and Margot Ricks; his sister, Lynanne Goodwin and husband, Albert Goodwin; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving family members and friends.
Ron was a graduate of Bridge City High School and Lamar University in Southeast Texas and proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He began his career as a buyer for Joske’s Department Store in San Antonio, TX, and retired as a Sales Executive with Levi Strauss & Co. in Atlanta,
GA.
A man of many talents, Ron was an avid golfer and club designer, a coach, a fantastic cook, a pilot, and a home builder. His greatest gift was the love he had for his family. Ron’s legacy of generosity and kindness was boundless and will be sorely missed.
The family will celebrate Ron’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts of donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation are appreciated. Fly high, RR, until we meet again.
