
Roger Dale Hunt, beloved son and brother, age 55, of Vidor, Texas, departed this life at his home on Sunday, June 9, 2024, after a courageous fight with heart failure.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, June 17, 2024, at Dorman Funeral Home; Pastor Harland Strother officiating. Visitation of family and friends will be held prior to the service, from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Arrangements were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.
On Monday, May 5, 1969, Roger was born to Rodney Hunt and Rhonda Sonnier. Roger graduated from West Orange-Stark High School and was a dedicated client and engraver, for 38 years, at OCARC. Earlier in life he was on the Special Olympics bowling, basketball and track teams. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, wrestling and working puzzles. Roger also loved spending time with his family, pets, going fishing at the lake, and trips to the beach. He collected pocket knives and loved eating hamburgers, and anything chocolate. His favorite color was red and his favorite song was, “I Can’t Fight this Feeling” by Reo Speedwagon.
Roger is preceded in death by his late girlfriend, Raquel Kessinger; dad, Rodney Hunt; step-dad, Jason Blalock; grandparents, Dempsey and Ruby (Talbert) Hunt and Jessie and Mary Lois (LeBlanc) Sonnier; sister, Christie (Hunt) Combs; brother, Dempsey W. Hunt: and several aunts, uncles, & cousins.
Those left to cherish Roger’s memory are his mother, Rhonda (Sonnier) Blalock, of Alexandria, La. Two sisters, Brandy Welch [Lloyd] & niece, [Alexis] of Vidor, TX (whom he lived with), and Charmaine Miranda, of Buda, TX.
