
Robert “Shon” Branham was born December 27, 1960, and passed away November 4, 2025, at the age of 64.
Shon lived a life full of purpose and joy. For 32 years, he shared his musical gift with the world, releasing four memorable albums that touched the hearts of everyone who heard them. Whether on stage or among friends, his music was an expression of his soul, honest, heartfelt, and full of life.
A true craftsman at heart, Shon owned and operated Honey-Do Construction for more than two decades, building not only homes but lasting friendships along the way. His commitment to hard work and helping others was matched only by his compassion, he loved everyone all the same and treated every person he met with kindness and respect.
Shon proudly served his country in the United States Army, dedicating four years to active duty. His sense of duty and courage continued long after his military service, as he spent 29 years as a firefighter, protecting his community and embodying the spirit of selflessness every single day.
He leaves behind his beloved support companion of 21 years, an umbrella cockatoo named Lala, who brought him endless comfort and joy.
He will be remembered for his laughter, his music, his generosity, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He was survived by his children, Charity Willington, and Cayla Court; father, Robert Burl Branham; sisters, Janet Roy, Teresa Melton, and Leslie Branham; 3 grandchildren; caretaker and niece, Crystal Wells; numerous extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Laverne Powell; and brother, Hazel Felix “Scooter” Branham.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 10, 2025, at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North Orange, Texas. Dr. Larry Haynes will be officiating.
