Robert Harold Blacksher, Sr., age 61 of Orange, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at his home. Services to honor Robert Sr.’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Hanley officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Robert Sr. was born in Orange, Texas on December 31,1956 to Margie Fay Mulhollan Blacksher and Jim Tom Blacksher. He graduated from Orangefield High School and was a very proud union pipefitter member of Local 211 Zone 195, who enjoyed every minute of working. Robert Sr. was never one to meet a stranger and always had the best sense of humor. He was also a fighter and used every ounce stubbornness to fight to the end of his battle with cancer. Robert Sr. enjoyed dancing, hunting and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family that he loved so much. His children and grandchildren were his world.
He is preceded in death by his mother Margie Fay Haley and a granddaughter Danielle Miller.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Jim Tom Blacksher and step-mom Earleen Blacksher, his wife, Elaine Hayes Blacksher of Orange, TX, three sons; Robert Harold Blacksher, Jr. and his wife Joy of Orange, TX, Luke Jones and his wife Jodi of Orange, TX and Jake Jones and his wife Jessica of Bridge City, TX, three daughters; Christie Spell and her husband Ronnie of Vidor, TX, Patricia Blacksher of Vidor, TX and Heather Kotrla and her husband Keith of Mauriceville, TX, two brothers; Joe Blacksher, Sr. and his wife Pam of Orange, TX and Kirk Blacksher and his wife Tinna of Hampshire, TX, two sisters; Judy Longron and her husband Todd Sr. of Orange, TX and Sheri Broussard and her husband Davin of Orangefield, TX and fourteen grandchildren; Gilbert, Bowen, Dyllan, Desiree, Dalyn, Aaliyah, Crissa, Kayden, Kendall, Kain, Addyson, Jaxson, Caleb and his wife Kaitlyn and Carleigh, as well as one great grandchild Carson.
Pallbearers will be Steve Parker, Kirk Blacksher, Luke Jones, Jake Jones, Cory Broussard, Todd Longron, Jr., Tip Fountain, Joe Blacksher, Jr., Michael Bellard, Todd Longron, Sr., Natasha Blacksher and Joe Blacksher, Sr.
