Robert Allen “Bobby” Cart, 66, of Orange passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016. He was a member of the Orange West Congregation Kingdom Hall. Bobby never considered himself disabled, he never let anything stand in his way. He retired from Honeywell after 32 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and in his younger days, he was great at water skiing. He excelled at carpentry, specializing in cabinet making. He even put a sign up that said, “Carts Cabinet Shop, Just see what I saw”. Bobby liked to bowl and he and his wife used to coach a bowling league for children. He was the rock of the family. He was the man you could depend on if you needed something done. Bobby lived for his grandchildren, he always said that if he had known that having grandchildren was so much fun, he would have had them first.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Elute Bertrand and Saveigne and Elexia Cart; parents, James and Iola Cart; siblings, Albert Cart, Michael Cart and Patricia Cart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Beverly Cart of Mauriceville, children Shane Cart and wife Misty of Beaumont, Stacy Cart of Houston, and Kristi Sumrall and husband Dustin of Lumberton; siblings, Donald James Cart and wife Leona of Mauriceville, Theresa A. Cart of West Orange, and Butch Myers and wife JoAnn of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Randolph Morgan, Aimee Morgan, Hannah Cart, and Ava Sumrall.
Bobby’s family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday June 29, 2016 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, officiated by Brother Alfonso Booker. Interment will follow at Walton Cemetery in Lumberton.
Serving as pall bearers will be Brother Al Cantu, Leo Moore, Sr., Butch Myers, Eric Hebert, Stephen Wolfe, and Brother Al Guilbeau.
