
Rita Darleen Boyett Hucko, 65, of Orange, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation in Orange following an illness. Born on March 1, 1950 in Orange, Texas to her parents, Melvin Boyette and Elizabeth Ann (Chandler) Boyett, she was a lifelong resident of the Orange and Bridge City area and she worked as a custodian at the Bridge City Intermediate School in Bridge City. Rita was a member of Community Church in Orange and MacArthur Heights Baptist Church in Pinehurst. Rita will be remembered as a lady of very strong faith who enjoyed praying and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter.
Rita is preceded in death by her father; her sister, Jenni Taylor and her cousin, William Dickey. Those who will most cherish her memory are her daughters, Colleen Nichole Simmons and husband, Scott of Orange and Rachel Freeman of Orange; her mother, Elizabeth Ann Boyett of Bridge City; her sister, Becky Platt and husband, Ronnie of Bridge City; her brother, Melvin Boyett, Jr. of Orange; her granddaughter, Jaycie Wilson of Orange; Numerous nieces, nephews extended family and a host of friends.
Services to honor Rita’s life will be at 6:30 P.M. Friday, July 10, 2015 in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange with Reverend Matt Chandler, officiating. A gathering of Rita’s family and friends will be from 4:30 until 6:30 Friday at the funeral home.
