Richard Wayne Salter, age 50 of Deweyville, Texas, passed away at his home on Friday, January 14, 2022. Service to honor Richard’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home with Rev. John Fortenberry officiating. Interment will immediately follow at King Cemetery. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Richard was born in Many, Louisiana on October 5, 1971 to parents, Lucille Ann Hennigan Salter and Carroll Wayne Salter. He worked for many years as a construction superintendent in the refineries. Richard loved being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching football, fishing and sand-bar-hopping on the weekends. Richard was known for his delicious BBQs he enjoyed having so much. He was a unique and gentle soul that will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his step-son Marcus Miller.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Tammy Salter of Deweyville, TX, parents, Lucille Salter of Deweyville, TX and Carroll Salter of Kirbyville, TX sons, Trenton Salter of Deweyville, TX and Connor Salter, step-son Benjamin Miller of Deweyville, TX, brother Brian Salter and his wife Diana of Orange, TX and many close friends.
Pallbearers honoring Richard will be Dwayne Benoit, Kelly Bussell, Bob Buxton, Blake Buxton, Donnie Whitney and Robert Lout. Honorary pallbearers will be John Wilson, Ted Stone, Conroy Graffagnino, Nate Buxton, Landen Thompson, Jimmy Lavergne, Bubba Barney, James Naegele, Brian Lane, James Biggrigg, Bryan Presley, Gage Paul and Brenton Whitney.
