Richard Collier, a longtime resident of Vidor, passed away surrounded by family on March 14, 2025 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, Texas. He spent most of his life working as an auto mechanic, a trade he took great pride in. Whether under the hood of a car or sharing stories with loved ones, Richard had a way of making those around him feel at home.
Beyond his work, Richard cherished time with his family and had a love for adventure—especially when it came to going on cruises. The open sea, new destinations, and the company of those he loved brought him great joy.
He is survived by his children: Robin Misenheimer and husband Hugh of Vidor, TX, Richard “Sonny” Collier Jr. and wife Annette of Vinton, LA, Rodney Collier and wife Nancy of Vidor, TX, Russ Collier of Baton Rouge, LA, Rebecca Domec and husband Craig of Vidor, TX, and Randall Collier and wife Donna of Beaumont, TX.
He also leaves behind his sisters: Mary Lee Shaw of Pasadena, TX, and Joyce Geiger of Katy, TX, as well as 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Collier, and his granddaughter, Amanda Collier Howard.
His family will forever hold onto the memories of his laughter, wisdom, and love for life. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
