LCM Senior Dean Reynolds made it official Wednesday that he will be playing baseball at Columbia University in New York City where he will major in political science.
“This is an easy one,” LCM Athletic Director Eric Peevey said when introducing the All-KOGT QB at his signing party. “Dean is the ultimate team player and I can’t thank him enough for what he’s done in our program. He went from playing tight end his junior year to quarterback his senior year. Probably the two most difficult positions to play in our offense. He stepped up. And when he injured his shoulder he could’ve packed it in and got ready for baseball but he wasn’t going to leave his teammates hanging and that says a lot about his character.”
Reynolds lead the Bear baseball team in five offensive categories. He hit .397 with 27 hits, 7 doubles, 2 triples, and 22 runs scored. He also lead the team in innings pitched with 38, striking out 36.
“I’ve had the privilege of being around Dean since he was in junior high,” said Baseball Coach Hunter Hagler. “He’s been nothing but an ultimate team player and I have no doubt he’ll carry that to the next level.”
