
The Celebration of Life for The Reverend Curley Richard,93, of Orange, will be Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11am at the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.
Rites of Christian Burial will follow at Magnolia Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 until 11am.
The Reverend Curley Richard was born Wednesday, December 16, 1931, in Bellevue, Louisiana to Mary (Blackwell) Richard and Andrus Richard. He answered The Master’s Call Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas.
Residing in Orange some 70 years, he was a welder at the former U. S. Steel Shipyard and also retired from the City of Orange Water Department. He also was a Crossing Guard for the West Orange-Cove Consolidated Independent School District.
He was the Pastor of Solid Rock Baptist Church and also had a Hospital and Incarcerated Ministry until his health failed.
The sport he loved was Boxing. Cooking and boiling crawfish were his favorite pastimes, along with providing transportation to the grocery store and other places to those who had no transportation.
Forever cherishing his memory are three sons, Stanley Richard (Odetta), Donald Ray Richard, and Timothy Lee Richard (Shirley Lee), all of Beaumont, Texas, 2 step-daughters, Alicia Thomas (Ricky} and Carolyn Sparks, both of Eunice, Louisiana, 2 step-sons, Charles
Warren (Margarita) of Lawtell, Louisiana and Thomas Sparks (Sherry) of Dallas, Texas, 24 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two spouses, Juanita Richard and Dorothy Richard, daughters, Cynthia Ann Richard and Joyce Richard and son, Richard Curley Bernard.
