
The latest rounds of inspection reports are in and we’re proud to announce to all of the parents, grandparents and guardians, your kids are eating lunch at school in clean kitchens.
Inspector James Scales gave scores of 100 to Mauriceville School, Vidor Oak Forest and Pineforest Elementary, Vidor Junnior High and High School, Orangefield Junior High and High School, Little Cypress Elementary and Intermediate and West Orange Stark Middle School.
A host of establishments scored in the 90’s. Blue Bird Fish Camp received a 96, Dollar General on 16th a 97, Taco Bell in Vidor a 95, Danny’s in West Orange a 92, and Donut Nation on Hwy. 62 received a 90 for having sausage and eggs at improper temperatures.
Raceway in Bridge City recieved an 82. They were cited for food at improper temperatures, expired food, raw foods stored outside of original container, and that the establishment needed cleaning.
The Bliss Box on I-10 near Hwy. 62 received a 79. The store received 12 violations, mostly for not cleaning the area and food stored improperly. Also there was not a Food Manager on staff nor Food Handler certification.
Sonic Drive Inn on Texas Ave. in Bridge City received a 77.
Several businesses passed their pre-inspection to begin serving food. They include Club 87 Honky Tonk, Eats and Treats on Park Ave., Pine Forest Donuts, Stars of Gate City on Mills St., Eclectic Farms on FM1136, and Community School who is reopening following Hurricane Harvey repairs.
