Recycling is returning to Orange County. The closing of recycle depots in Orange and Jefferson Counties forced the county landfill and municipalities in the county to cease recycling operations indefinitely.
Deborah Bednar and Sandra Hoke worked to find other recycling options for the county. The result was Recyclops agreeing to come to Orange County if it could get a guarantee of at least three hundred customers locally. As of this week Recyclops reached it magic number of 300 which now stands at 314 residents wanting to recycle according to Ryan Smith the Chief Recycloperations Officer.
Persons wanting to recycle can still sign up with Recyclops by going to recyclops.com to join the program. The fee is $10 a month, and the items will be picked up twice a month. Smith can also be reached by phone at (801) 520-4402.
