
Rebecca Lynn Gafford Dickerson, 76, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 20th, 2026, in Port Arthur.
Funeral services honoring Becky and Kent Dickerson will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Keith Royal.
Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on February 18, 1949, she was the daughter of J B Gafford and Hida Williams Gafford. Becky was a vibrant soul who had a creative spirit and loving heart enriched in the lives of those around her. Becky was a hard worker and was extremely intelligent. She had several great jobs but her favorite ones were as the head clerk in charge of the Accounts Payable departments. She had a unique talent for crafting and hobbies as well as crocheting, gardening, and scrapbooking, where she preserved many memories of her family and friends. Additionally, her enthusiasm for working on the family tree was a testament to her deep appreciation for family heritage. Toledo Bend Lake held a special place in Becky’s heart where she spent many joyful moments next to the water as well as swimming in it with family and friends. A devoted NASCAR fan, she never missed a race; her excitement during the events mirrored her enthusiastic personality. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bridge City. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and love, and she embraced her role as a grandmother wholeheartedly, finding joy in the lives of her grandchildren and great nieces. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and creativity that will shine in the hearts that were fortunate enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, J B and Hilda Gafford.
She is survived by her husband Kent Dickerson; her son, Carl “C.C.” Certa, Jr; her stepson, Jason Dickerson and wife Loralee; her grandchildren, Sean Certa, Braylee Certa, Grady Dickerson, and Sam Dickerson; her sister, Paula Dickerson and husband David; her nephew, Casey Rouly and wife Lissen; her great nieces, Izabel “Izzy” Rouly, and Ava Rouly; plus numerous other loving family members and friends.

Robert “Kent” Dickerson
Robert “Kent” Dickerson, 75, of Orange, Texas, passed away on February 3, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services honoring Kent and Becky Dickerson will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Keith Royal. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas.

Kent Dickerson was born on June 9, 1950, in Jasper, Texas, the son of Cecil and Ruth Marshall Dickerson. He was raised in Burkeville, Texas, where he graduated as a proud Bearkat from Burkeville High School in 1968 as a member of a close-knit class of 22 students.
Following his graduation, Kent was employed by Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative, where he worked as a lineman for three years. In 1971, he relocated to Huntsville, Texas, to begin his career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. While serving with TDCJ, he furthered his education at Sam Houston State University, earning bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Business Administration.
Kent loved his work and devoted his professional life to medical service. He retired as a Senior Practice Manager after 50 years of dedicated service with the University of Texas Medical Branch and the State of Texas. He will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of working alongside him and benefiting from his leadership, integrity, and steady presence.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ruth Marshall Dickerson; his former wife of 26 years, Carol Dickerson; and his wife of 21 years, Rebecca “Becky” Dickerson.
He is survived by his brother, David Dickerson and wife Paula; his son, Jason Dickerson and wife Lora Lee; his stepson, Carl “CC” Certa; stepson Trae Lawler and stepdaughter Leeanne Lawler; and his beloved grandchildren, Sam and Grady Dickerson and Sean and Braylee Certa along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, Kent was guided by a steadfast faith in God, which shaped his character, strengthened his work ethic, and inspired a life of service to others. His legacy of faith, dedication, and quiet strength will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him.
