
Rebecca Joan Walker, 74, of Vidor, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20th, 2025, at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor.
A longtime resident of Vidor, Joan was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dedicated her career to serving the community as a lifetime employee at Luby’s restaurant in Beaumont, where her warm personality and cheerful spirit made her a favorite among patrons and coworkers alike.
After her retirement, Joan embraced her love for music and dancing, often spending time enjoying life’s simple pleasures. She also had a passion for playing bingo and solving word puzzles, which kept her sharp and brought her joy.
Joan leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her children: Troy S. Copeland, Mendy Elaine Jackson, Max Copeland and wife Jennifer, and Carrie Hope Berg and husband Jeff Lyle Berg; her brother, David Ronald Ray; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris L. Ray and Carol F. Ray, and her daughter, Heather Joy Yanez.
The family will celebrate Joan’s life at Faith Baptist Church, 490 Grand Street, Vidor, TX. Details for the service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Max Copeland or Hope Berg to assist with funeral expenses.
Rebecca Joan Walker will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
