Randy Ross Plant, age 66 of Cove, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in Port Arthur, Texas. Services to honor Randy’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Ruth Burch officiating. Interment will follow at Orange Forest Lawn. Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.
Randy was born in Orange, Texas on August 4, 1952 to Ravenna Prejean Plant and Bobbie Plant. From an early age Randy started his hobby of working; whether it was raising cattle, barging cattle or being a pipeline inspector, he enjoyed it. His neighbors all thought of him as the “Mayor” of Cove and the historian of the area. Randy was a very simple person with a big heart that loved his family very much.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bobbie and Ravenna Plant.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Desiree Plant of Cove, TX, daughter Summer Sheleen Reynolds and her husband John of Cove, TX and grandson Zachary Joseph Plant of Cove, TX.
Pallbearers will be Dallen Tarver, Ricky Savoy, Cody Tarver, Heath Tarver, Casey Tarver and Bobby Payne.
