Monday night firefighters were called to a possible railcar starting a grass fire near Hwy. 87 and Allie Payne Rd.
Turns out it was the coal inside the two railcars that was smoldering and Tuesday morning the railroad company elected to empty both cars and spread out the material and wet it down. Many driving past thought the cars had derailed.
The railroad crossings were down on Allie Payne while the work was being done for safety.
