A day after announcing Kevin Weldon as the interim Superintendent at Orangefield ISD, the district held a Meet and Greet for its newest administrator.
On school board member said, “Kevin really did his research for his interview. He knew more about Orangefield than any of the other candidates we interviewed.”
Weldon, like many, got into administration after a career in coaching. The 1978 Port Neches-Groves graduate was once the head football coach and Athletic Director at Splendora in the early 2000’s.
He also served as Superintendent at Kountze and at Tarkington ISD, where he retired in 2018.
The school board plans to start interviewing candidates in January.
