
The FBI is involved in the investigation of a the break-in and theft of the Capital One ATM, 3738 16th Street.
Orange Police Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the theft might be tied to others in Texas and Louisiana. He said four “persons of interest” have been identified and they are cooperating with the investigation. Some of the money stolen has been recovered. Enmon said he hopes additional money will be returned.
Patrol officers discovered the break-in about 3 a.m. on May 23.

A man in the Cove neighborhood was hit in the head with a glass beer bottle Saturday night when he tried to break up a fight between his girlfriend and another woman. Orange police report the man had cuts above and eye and on his nose, but he did not seek medical help.
The aggravated assault was in the 1400 block of Missouri Street about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. The man told police he was inside the house and heard his girlfriend and another woman arguing loudly. They had been “drinking heavily,” according to the police report.
The man went outside and said the two looked like they were ready to physically fight. He grabbed his girlfriend and tried to pull her away. That’s when a third woman, a friend of the woman with which the man’s girlfriend was arguing, came up and hit him in the head with the beer bottle. The man told police he wants to pursue an aggravated assault charge.

A man was arrested Saturday morning for strong-arm robbery and evading police after he attacked the mother of his child and stole money from her. Police arrested the man at a house in the 500 block of West Cypress Avenue after an officer pulled a Taser on him.
The 28-year-old woman victim told police she was in bed about 8 a.m. at her apartment in the Sabine Park Apartments, 111 West Pine Avenue. She heard a knock at the door and answered it. She knew the man because they have a child together.
She told police they began arguing. He came at her and she pushed him back. They ended up on the floor in a struggle. He punched her three or four times in the face. When he got off of her, she ran into a back room, where she locked the door and called 911.
The man left and the woman noticed $100 was missing from her wallet. Police arrived and reported the woman had a knot above her left eye.
A patrol officer and patrol captain went to the 700 block of West Cypress Avenue to look for the man. They saw a white Chevrolet Impala. When they started walking toward the car, a man ran away. Police had the car towed because it was a traffic hazard.
An officer was able to grab at him, but he pulled way and ran east on West Cypress Avenue. Police chased the man eastward through yards. He ended up at a house in the 500 block of West Cypress Avenue. An officer pulled a Taser and he surrendered.
Neimiah Javan Johnson of Orange was arrested for strong-arm robbery along with evading arrest. He also had two misdemeanor warrants issued against him.

A Little Cypress woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine after a traffic stop in Orange Friday afternoon. Police report the woman was driving a Honda car on Green Avenue when she changed lanes without a signal.
A detective sergeant stopped the car for the traffic violation. He reported the woman was “extremely nervous” with her “hands visibly shaking.” He asked her to step out of the car and asked if she had something illegal. The detective reported the woman shook her head, “yes.” She had some methamphetamine, but she did not want the passenger to know.
The detective found the meth in a green Altoids tin. Anglia Ann Aaron was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a state jail felony.

Reports of a man walking around wearing only a diaper sent Orange police to the 600 block of Burton Avenue. An officer reported seeing a juvenile wearing a diaper. The officer did not report what happened afterward.

A motorcycle was reported stolen Sunday from a place in the 1800 block of DuPont Drive. The owner said he let a man test drive the 2003 black and red Yamaha and the man had not returned.

The burglary of a vehicle was reported Sunday evening in Roselawn. The vehicle had been parked in the driveway of a house in the 200 block of Bridal Wreath.
