The Stark Museum of Art invites families to bring their youngest artists for Playdate, a fun and engaging program designed for children age five and under and their grown-ups. Each second Friday of the month from 10-11 a.m., little learners will enjoy hands-on experiences that nurture creativity through music, movement, imaginative play, storytelling and art-making, with an emphasis on building fine motor skills. Playdate is offered free of charge.
“Playdate is one of my favorite programs because it gives young children the chance to create and learn in a playful, welcoming environment designed just for them,” said Kyra Hall, studio and public programs coordinator at the Stark Museum of Art. “These shared experiences help foster a love of art that can grow with them for years to come.”
Each hour-long Playdate features a new art-inspired story and activity to help children and their caregivers explore and connect with art in meaningful ways. Families are encouraged to dress for mess, as splashes, spills and splatters are all part of the fun.
