
The City of Pinehurst has extended its Re-Investment Zone from MacArthur Drive to Strickland Drive to help stimulate economic development in the city. The Re-Investment Zone will allow Pinehurst to grant to tax abatements to business prospects wanting to move into the zone.
Sales taxes in Pinehurst have been on the increase this year. Harry Vine with Pinehurst agrees economic development is working for his city. Vine reported that sales tax revenues increased the last two months and should help Pinehurst grow and bring in other businesses.
HEB is still planning to build a new store on MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst. Vine mentioned last week another business prospect is considering the purchase of the property on Strickland Drive where Conn’s was located previously.
