
Phyllis Tobola, 65, of Vidor, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. Born on December 30, 1960, Phyllis lived a life defined by compassion, devotion, and unwavering love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie Lopez and Leroy Joseph Lemaire; her God given second father, Jerry Lopez; her sister, Tammy Martinez; her brothers, Jerry Lopez Jr. and Curtis Lopez; her aunt and uncle, Joyce Segura and Raylan Lemaire; her beloved grandparents, Steven Sedtal and Grace Onderdonck Sedtal, Wilson Sr. Lemaire and Gussie Lemaire; as well as her niece, Amber Martinez.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Patric Tobola; her stepson, Gilbert Tobola; her stepdaughter, Patsy Tobola; her sister, Martha Torres; her aunt, Margaret Lemaire; her uncle, Wilson Lemaire Jr.; and a large family of nieces and nephews who adored her: Cortney and Brandon Hill (Anthony McGill, Brandon Martinez, Jacory Butcher, Janay Haynes); Michael Clark; Amanda Shelton (Alizae and Arianna Shelton, Amirya, and Roniya); Jose and Ejiro Martinez; David Torres ;Dannet Martinez ;Chrystal Montilla ;Brittney Baker as well as her Great Niece Starlyn Liles (Kaleb)
Phyllis devoted 32 years of her life to caring for others as a day surgery nurse at Mid Jefferson, faithfully continuing her work when the facility relocated to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Her dedication to her patients was extraordinary, but her true calling was the love she poured into her family and friends.
She had a heart of gold and loved fiercely and selflessly, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone she encountered. Whether offering a comforting word, extending a helping hand, or simply sharing her presence, Phyllis made people feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Her home — and her heart — were always open. Her laughter filled every room, and her love created a safe haven for all who knew her.
Her family was her greatest treasure, and the bonds she nurtured will remain unbreakable. Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, and unconditional love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she cherished.
Phyllis Tobola’s light will forever shine through the lives she touched. She will be dearly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
