
Peter Fleming, 67, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 24, 2026, in Houston, Texas.
Born in Hempstead, New York, on September 7, 1958, he was the son of John George Fleming and Estrella Rae Cadenhead. Peter lived in California for most of his life, before settling in Orange in adulthood and marrying the love of his life, Ellen. Peter found great pleasure in fishing, savoring the calm and tranquility it brought. He was an avid reader, always eager to explore new stories, and his enthusiasm for watching football, particularly the San Francisco 49ers, was well known among friends and relatives. He was a man whose quiet and easy-going nature endeared him to many, yet he was always ready with the perfect joke at just the right moment, showcasing a subtle wit that left a lasting impression on those that knew him. Peter embraced challenges with a unique passion, never shying away from expressing his viewpoints and encouraging thoughtful discourse. Known affectionately as Papa to his grandchildren, Peter embraced the joy and warmth of family. His gentle presence and loving spirit created cherished memories that his family will carry forward.
Peter is preceded in death by his parents, John and Rae; and his wife, Ellen Fleming.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Marcy Haynes and husband Ricky, April Mays and husband Brad, Amy Brown and husband Chad, Elizabeth Ramsey and husband Mark, and Sarah St. John and husband Brandon; grandchildren, Kayla Miller, Brookelynn Powell, TJ Marshall, Beau Mays, Mallory Mays, Carly Flannigan, Luke Flannigan, Brynn Ramsey, Hollis Ramsey, Hayes St. John, and Rhett St. John; several great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis Fleming; and his sisters, Donna Brady and Peggy VanDeren; along with numerous other loving family and friends.
Following Peter’s wishes, a private family memorial service will be held.
