Kotoyama Closes Its Doors
Following a recent inspection, Kotoyama Restaurant on MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst was shut down and told they couldn't reopen until the necessary repairs were made. It's not the first time the establishment has been shut down. Since then the owner, Trung Tran, has notified the City of Pinehurst he would not be reopening. Orange Man Indicted In Jefferson County
A Jefferson County Grand Jury has indicted 49 year old Ronald Lynn Cameron of Orange following a traffic stop on Feb. 8 of this year. A DPS Trooper was on patrol on I10 eastbound near mile marker 847 when he clocked a Chevrolet Tahoe at 91mph in a 55mph zone. During the traffic stop the Trooper said he could smell alcohol on Cameron and he had bloodshot eyes. Two whiskey bottles were found in the vehicle. One of them was empty. Barge Gets Loose In Sabine
Tuesday afternoon during heavy winds and some rain, a barge that was pushed onto land lifted because of the high water and set its sight on the docks around the Orange Boat Ramp. But in a "best case scenario" the barge hit the dock near the ramp doing some damage, but completely avoided the new floating dock. It touched but didn't damage the dock that extends on the water before coming to a stop on the bank just to the north of the ramp. Witnesses said it missed the other areas by a matter of feet. Baylee Smith announced Tuesday in front of her friends and family that she'll be taking her softball talents to Kilgore JC. Smith has had a phenomenal career with the Deweyville Pirates, finishing with more than 800 strikeouts and being named the district MVP. She also lead her team in batting average (.464) and doubles with 13 and was second in RBI's. She's also a repeat performer on the ALL-KOGT Softball Team.
