Charged With Child Solicitation

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a concerned parent that a child was receiving inappropriate text messages from an adult. The complaint was assigned to a deputy specialized in sexual assault investigations. The deputy collected evidence that revealed a digital conversation where the minor was solicited for sex. The suspected solicitor was identified as Sethan Beital, age 38. The deputy presented the investigation to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Turner Jailed On Multiple Charges

On Sept. 10 at 6:30 PM, Orange County Sheriff’s Office Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the 2400 block of SH-73 in Bridge City. During the traffic stop, deputies developed probable cause to believe the driver, identified as Marvas Turner, was involved in criminal activity. Turner attempted to flee the scene of the traffic stop but was quickly detained for further investigation. A search of Turner’s vehicle revealed one pound two ounces of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and U.S. currency. Joyce Elaine Craig Jackson, 85, of Spring, Texas, died on August 31, 2025, after suffering with long term dementia. Joyce Elaine was born in Los Angles, California, on January 14, 1940 to Janet Pollock Craig, and Benjamin Jonathan Craig, and was the second born of three Craig daughters. Joyce attended various schools in California, prior to the family's move to Orange Texas, where she graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1958. Fire Damages Three Homes

One trailer was destroyed by fire and two others were damaged late Thursday night in the McLewis area. The call came in to OCESD #4 just before midnight and they arrived to find a trailer fully engulfed on Med Davis Road which is off of I-10 just west of the Hwy. 62 intersection. Firefighters battled flames and several propane bottles exploding while also trying to protect the homes on both sides of the trailer on fire. No one was home at the trailer that burned and neighbors were able to wake a man that was in the trailer next to it and he got out safely.
