Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Clifton Rankin. Burial will follow at Wilkinson Cemetery. Karen Sue MacLeod, 74, passed away on May 9, 2025, at her home in Warren, Texas, with her family by her side. Karen was born December 4, 1950, in Beaumont, Texas, to Ashley and Susie Lee. Karen grew up in Beaumont, Texas, as an only child. In 1990, she graduated from Lamar University with a degree in accounting and went on to work as a county auditor for over 25 years in multiple Texas counties. Store Robbed On Tuesday
Around 1pm Tuesday a store on Burton St. in Orange was robbed at gunpoint. Orange Police said a black male walked into the Super Star Stop at 1102 Burton with a gun and took an undetermined amount of money. "I'm a coyote in a field of wolves." That's the line from a Morgan Wallen song that I'm sure many have felt like that coyote in their certain field. I know I have. Shooed a couple away last week. Meantime there's a coyote in a field of historic homes in downtown Orange. It walks around during the day like it's a dog. Andy down at Animal Control has some traps out but it's been pretty elusive.
