Two Shot On Motorcycles
Authorities are investigating a dangerous incident that occurred on Interstate 10 in Rose City Thursday. The call came in around 7:35pm that a group of four motorcycles were riding eastbound near Baird's Bayou when a black SUV pulled up next to them and began firing. Two of the motorcyclists were hit. One is in serious condition and the other is in stable condition. The SUV drove off. Authorities were unsuccessful locating it. The Bridge City Cardinals took a 4-0 lead and won Game One of the Region Final vs. Salado 6-2 in Waller on Thursday. Coach Chad Landry called on pitcher Brady Havard and he delivered giving up one run on four hits in 5.1 innings with 4K's. Slade Herman came in the sixth inning and gave up a run on a hit before max Pachar sat the Eagles down in order in the seventh. A large crowd gathered Thursday for the unveiling of a new historical marker in Orange. It's now posted in front of the home of Kenneth and Beth Wheeler at 1008 Pine Ave. in the downtown historic area. The house was built in 1889 on a lot in Orange’s first subdivision. The Wheelers spent years rebuilding the home with inspiration from a house in New Orleans Garden District. A Vidor man has been sentenced to over 15 years in federal prison for child pornography violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr. David Dwane Parker, 54, pleaded guilty to transportation of child pornography and was sentenced to 188 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone on May 21, 2025.
