After five years serving as the City Administrator in Pinehurst, Jerry Hood announced his resignation Tuesday at Pinehurst. Hood cited unforeseen family needs as his reason for stepping down. He thanked the council for their support and especially the city employees for their work during his tenure. Council also praised Hood for his time and efforts, stating that he will be missed. The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a crash on state Highway 12, near Jennings Street, that occurred Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Around 1pm over 1100 Entergy customers in Bridge City lost power after an accident between a vehicle and a utility pole. A woman was driving a Honda on E. Roundbunch in the 200 block (about 800 ft from the Texas Ave. intersection) and for an unknown reason left the roadway and struck a utility pole.
