Connie Minton Anderson, 86, of Vidor, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Born in San Augustine, Connie was a longtime resident of Vidor and a proud 1957 graduate of Vidor High School. A devoted Christian, Connie was a charter member of Victory Bible Baptist Church in Vidor since its founding in 1962. Bike Rider Sent To Hospital
A woman was transported to the hospital Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle. The call came in around 8:30am from the intersection of 11th and Burton in Orange. A red Ford Expedition was traveling west on Burton when the woman on the bicycle, traveling south on 11th, failed to yield the right of way and pulled in front of the Expedition. Update: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the U.S. Border Patrol, the Louisiana State Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the FBI arrested approximately 84 illegal aliens June 17 during a worksite enforcement operation at the Delta Downs Racetrack in Calcasieu Parish, near Vinton, Louisiana. Kenneth Robert Upshaw, age 93, of Hallandale, Florida, formerly of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 10, 2025, in Pembroke Pines, Florida. A memorial service honoring Kenneth will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Dorman Funeral Home. Human Remains Found in Vinton
Earlier Monday morning, at approximately 7:00 a.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 5400 block of Highway 90 West in Vinton in reference to suspicious circumstances. During the initial investigation, it was revealed the complainant located what is believed to be human remains in a wooded area off the roadway. CPSO detectives and the Forensic Investigation Unit were at the scene processing the area.
