More Changes At LSCO
The landscape of Lamar State College Orange continues to change. But this time instead of adding a building they're taking one down. Demolition started this week on the building at the corner of 4th and Front St. The building has held several names including as the academic and student center. Lamar University opened its first extension center in Orange in the fall of 1969 in the former Tilley Elementary building. But in 1971 fire destroyed the building and they needed a new location. Earl Brewer Parker Jr. was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on June 7, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born on October 15, 1936, to Bianka Williamson Parker and Earl Brewer Parker, Sr. in Vicksburg, MS. TPWD Weekly Fishing Report Week of June 18, 2025 Sam RayburnGOOD. Water stained; 86 degrees; 0.45 feet above pool. Bass are shallow early in the pencil and hay grass with topwater baits. Then bass move to points and drains with Carolina rigs and jigs. Crappie are slowly moving to brush piles, with a better bite on the south end of the lake and Ash Bayou. Jigs and minnows are working equally. Bluegill are on brush piles. Catfish are transitioning from the creeks to the main lake on points and channel bends with cut bait or stink bait. On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant on Ned Reese, a 64-year-old resident of Orange, Texas. Mr. Reese was taken into custody and is charged with Interference with a Public Servant, a Class B Misdemeanor. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on February 9, 2025, when Mr. Reese was accused of operating a drone in close proximity to an Air Rescue helicopter that was attempting to transport a patient in need of urgent medical care.
