Two Positions Open In Vidor
Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll has been announced as the new police chief in Nederland this week. Carroll had been with VPD since 2017 and recently took on double duty serving as the City Manager for Vidor. He relieved Robbie Hood after he was not renewed last month. Carroll says he'll stay in Vidor until a city manager is hired. John P. Anger, age 92, of Orange, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 in Beaumont, Texas. John was born on April 6, 1933 to John and Dorothy Anger in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated from Lutcher Stark High School before attending Stephen F. Austin College. He joined the Army in 1953 to serve in the Korean War. He served his country as an Operating Room Specialist earning a Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal before being honorably discharged in 1956.
