A lifelong resident of Vidor, Lindsey was known for his strong faith and deep relationship with God, which remained a guiding force throughout his life. It is with heavy hearts that the family of James Robbin "J.R." Wilson announce his unexpected passing on September 18, 2025. He was 75 years old. J.R. was born on August 5 to James and V. Ruth (Lenertz) Wilson. He was the oldest of their five children. During the Vietnam War, J.R. was drafted and proudly served in the U.S. Army, Infantry Division at the Korean Demilitarized Zone. Gatemouth Gravestone Vandalized
On Thursday, September 18th, 2025, at approximately 11:30 am, City of Orange Police Department was dispatched to Orange Hollywood Cemetery in the 1300 block of Simmons Drive in reference to a headstone being destroyed. The headstone belonging to the grave of singer/musician Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown had been broken in two. This is at least the third time it has been damaged. On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at approximately 6:59 p.m., Deputy Brent Sonnier was on patrol near the intersection of County Road 4181 and State Highway 12 in Deweyville when he conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Ford Explorer for expired registration. While speaking with the driver, Deputy Sonnier observed several indicators of possible criminal activity.
