OCSO Makes Pot Bust

A 29 year old man is in the Orange County Jail following a traffic stop. On Monday, July 7, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office stopped a passenger vehicle after witnessing the driver commit a traffic violation. The deputy developed probable cause to believe the driver was involved in criminal activity and a search of the vehicle revealed 29 bundles of high-grade hydroponic marijuana, a 9mm handgun, U.S. currency, and other drug-related paraphernalia. Two In Jail After Drug Bust

On July 8, 2025, a joint investigation by the City of Orange Narcotic Division, the West Orange Police Department, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Division culminated in the execution of a search warrant at a residence located at #8 Circle C in Orange, Texas. The investigation was initiated in response to multiple complaints of suspected drug activity at the location. Born on February 19, 1934, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to Celestine and Isaure Fontenot, John lived a life filled with adventure, hard work, and deep devotion to those he loved. On June 28, 2025, husband and wife, Billy and Genell Torbett passed away peacefully together at home. A miracle from God. Bill and Genell grew up together as children in Troup, Texas. Bill went into the Army from 1956 to 1959. Genell went to Texas State College. When Bill returned from the army, he and Genell married in 1960 and moved to Orange, Texas, where he worked at Chevron for 38 years as a senior operator.
