Former longtime Orange County resident Assistant Chief Jay Hall of the Texas Division of Emergency Management is retiring. Jay Hall grew up in Orange County and attended Lamar University. Man Arrested In Bridge City On Friday, July 18, 2025 in Deweyville, deputies with the Newton County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to an address off County Road 3870 in reference to a burglary of a habitation. Deputies were able to gather evidence and begin searching for the stolen property and any potential suspects. On Monday, July 21, 2025, deputies traveled to a residence in Bridge City where they recovered some of the stolen property and interviewed a possible suspect.
