Judith Ann Granger, age 74, of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, after a lengthy illness at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, August 1, 2025. The funeral service honoring Judy will be Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Ordean Burnal Williams, 95, went to his heavenly home on July 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 4, 1930 on a farm next to the Red River in Terral, Oklahoma to George W. and Faye Robison Williams. He recently remarked that he had “always wondered what it was like on the other side of the river.” At the age of seven, he got his answer when he moved across the river and became a proud Texan himself. Facelift Continues At LCM
Slowly but surely the softball field at LCM is seeing improvements and the next phase is underway. Last season the field received new LED lighting and a new parking lot to keep so many from having to park alongside a busy Bear Path Rd. A couple of weeks ago the original stands, press box and concession stand were torn down. Woman Suffers Burns In Fire
OCESD #3 responded to a trailer fire Wednesday afternoon in the Little Cypress area. A woman inside survived but the trailer did not. Firefighters arrived to the small trailer engulfed in flames. They had it out in less than thirty minutes. The home was located in a small trailer park at 3225 Lawn Oak which is across from LCM High School. A woman was home at the time and was able to escape but suffered some burns to her legs and smoke inhalation. Acadian treated her at the scene. On Saturday, September 1, 2007, at about 9:17 AM, a decomposed human body was found in the 2100 block of N. 2nd Street in Orange. The body was later identified as Beverly McBride. McBride’s vehicle, a black Ford Five Hundred (four door passenger car), had been reported abandoned at 2850 Toccoa Street in Beaumont for several days on August 13, 2007.
