Two Teens Die In Accident
The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a fatal crash just north of Silsbee on Farm-to-Market Road 92, near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1122, that occurred Thursday, July 31, 2025. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 11:33 p.m., a tow truck was traveling north. It is reported that a Honda Accord failed to yield to the tow truck when it pulled from a gas station parking lot and was struck. On July 31, 2025, around 10:35 P.M., the Vidor 9-1-1 Communications Center received a call reporting that someone had been shot at a residence in the 1900 block of Hickory Street. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. According to interim Chief Rodney Johnson, officers were met outside the residence by an adult white male. The top 25 will stay and fish on Saturday. - Thursday was Day One of the Bassmaster High School Championship at Clarks Hill Lake in Georgia. Suspicious Fire In Brownwood
A vacant home at 2410 6th Street burned Thursday during the lunch hour. Orange Fire with assistance from OCESD 3 were called in to put the fire out. They arrived with the whole structure already fully involved. A neighbor said he saw someone drive up to the home and then after they left there was an explosion and the house caught fire. Weekly Fishing Report Week of July 30, 2025 Sam RayburnSLOW. Water stained; 90 degrees; 5.3 feet below pool. The water is low with large stumps exposed and fish moving back to deeper water. Conditions are changing quickly with bass moving to points, humps and offshore structure due to water releases. Carolina rigs and big baits are working for the deep bite. There's some topwater action in the shallows early in places, but fishing is mainly focused on deep structure. With all the water being released, the bite has been challenging.
