For The Week of August 6, 2025. Presented by TPWD. Sabine LakeGOOD. 87 degrees. Going to the rigs offers a chance at catching tripletail and cobia plus some solid trout. Head out to the short rigs on mornings with light winds to catch limits of trout in 30-35 feet of water. The catching a few tripletails as we return to the jetties. Donald Lynn Morrison passed on August 2, 2025, in Houston, TX after a brief illness. Born Feb. 27, 1969 in Orange, TX, he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan whose faith in them never wavered. Donald liked loud music, pizza and reading the Orange Leader cover-to-cover every day. Five Arrested Following Search Warrant
On August 6, 2025, at approximately 6:00 AM, the Orange Regional Tactical Team executed a search warrant at 3748 McKnight Road in Bridge City. The warrant was issued following an investigation that uncovered the sale of methamphetamine, firearms, and stolen property from the residence. During the search, investigators recovered a significant quantity of methamphetamine and numerous firearms. On Friday, August 1, 2025, our beloved mother Myrtle Lou Brown Givens, 85, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away. Born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, on July 8, 1940, she was the daughter of Thomas Holliman “T.H.” Brown III and Mavine Morgan Brown. When she attended Bogalusa High School, she was a member of the 4H club and represented her class on the Homecoming Court.
