For the first time ever Community Christian School won the TCAL (Texas Christian Athletic League) Boys and Girls Team Championships at the State Track Meet. The state track meet was held in Houston, TX at Cypress Christian School on Saturday, April 20th. The CCS boys team won with a total of 139, and the girls team won with 120 points. Guidry Completes Boston Marathon
Pam Guidry of Bridge City competed in the 128th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15th, 2024. She ran a stellar race placing 9th in her age group in a time of 3:50:57 which is an 8:49 pace for the 26.2 mile course. Pam first qualified for Boston back in 2020, but the race was canceled due to Covid. She ran her 2020 Boston race virtually at Memorial Park in Houston with her friend who also qualified, Billie Melanson. She continued to train and requalified at the Woodlands Marathon and completed her dream of running Boston in 2024. In total Pam has run 9 marathons. The 4A Regional Track Meet began Friday on a windy day at Bullard HS. Some field events and running prelims were held. The top two advance to State. In the running prelims, the top eight advance to the running finals on Saturday. Besides the running finals Saturday, field events include defending state champ Raegan Stephenson of Vidor in the high jump, along with girls shot put and triple jump.
