Cheryl Ann Alexion, 67, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 25, 2024, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Born in Atlas, Oklahoma, on August 14, 1956, she was the daughter of George Donald Alexion, Sr. and Hazel Hatcher Alexion. Cheryl was a graduate of Dougherty High School in Albany, Georgia, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with love and compassion. Two Men Identified
In recent days a man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Orange and another man was found dead in his vehicle following an accident in his Jeep. Those men have now been identified. On Monday, April 29th, 2024, deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 1500 block of Texla Road in Vidor in reference to a vehicle accident. Traffic Changes On Chemical Row
Beginning May 1 local traffic will be impacted by lane changes in front of Dow Sabine River Operations. FM-1006 will be reduced to one lane west bound during the hours of 4:30am – 8:00am and 4:30pm – 8:00pm. These traffic changes are expected to continue daily until approximately mid-June. Orange County will be represented at the State Track Meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium May 2. Vidor is sending high jumper Raegan Stephenson, looking for her third gold medal, and Blake Richards who ran his best time ever in the 300 hurdles at the Regional Meet. LCM and WOS will send their 4x200 teams with a chance to medal. And Orangefield is back in the state pole vaulting event where Zach Morrow jumped his best (14-9) at Regionals.
