Students from the HOSA-Future Health Professionals organization at Orangefield High School put on the first annual OES Teddy Bear Clinic. First graders were excited to bring stuffies from home for a well-check, complete with an ambulance visit. We would like to thank Acadian Ambulance Service for being a part of this event and providing exceptional first-aid care to these special patients. Fire At International Apartments
Around 6:45 Monday evening the Orange Fire Dept was called to International Apartments off Meeks Dr. where an apartment in "O" building caught fire. Residents banged on doors to get the other residents out. Flames were scene shooting from the balcony before firefighters arrived. They were able to keep the fire from spreading but other apartments received smoke damage. The man who rents the space said he was at another apartment in the complex when he was notified that his apartment was on fire. The fire marshal was called in and the cause is under investigation. TxDOT ORANGE COUNTY – Beginning Tuesday, May 7 through Saturday, May 11, FM 1006 will be closed at the Union Pacific crossings near DOW Chemical. Traffic on the east side (DOW Chemical side) of closure traveling west, will need to access FM 1006 and follow the detour to BUS-90. Once on BUS-90 traffic will follow the detour to SH87. Traffic on the West Side of the closure traveling east will need to follow the detour onto FM 105 (Foreman Rd.). They will travel FM 105 to SH87 where they will follow detour signage to FM 1006.
