The 2024 Toyota ShareLunker program was full speed ahead and produced an exceptional collection season for the fourth consecutive year. Anglers contributed 19 Legacy Class ShareLunkers from seven different lakes throughout Texas. Three new waterbodies recorded their first Legacy Class fish, but O.H. Tough day for the ladies as LCM and Orangefield were eliminated Friday. The Orangefield boys move to the third round and Bridge City can join them if they win one game Saturday. The LCM Lady Bears lost to Bullard 7-1 as the Panthers scored all seven runs in the first four innings of the game. That included a HR giving them three in the series. LCM had four hits, one each for Lexis Moss, Tessa Erickson, Ella Stephenson, and Kinsley Doucet. Sheets Combust In Drawer
Interesting fire call for the Orange Fire Dept. on Thursday. Employees at the Water Tree on 16th St. smelled something burning when they arrived so they called OFD to investigate. Their investigation led them to a set of cabinet drawers where they found sets of massage sheets burning. The fire department said sheets and towels saturated in oils can spontaneously combust in your dryer or storage, even after they've been washed. Use caution when drying or storing linens exposed to oils. Felon Indicted For Having A Pistol
Mario J. Peeples of Orange was indicted this week by a Jefferson County Grand Jury for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Back in February Beaumont Police were checking a gas station when they noticed the driver of a vehicle in the parking lot sleeping/unresponsive. When the officer opened the drivers side door for a welfare check he immediately noticed a Ruger 9mm pistol and he retrieved it. Bass are on points and deeper water with Carolina or Texas rigs. The frog bite is picking up bass in shallow lily pads and brush. The spawn is finally finishing up with a few still on beds.
