Cards Run Rule Alcorn in Home Finale

The BC Four Throws For Big Red Alcorn State scored a run in the first inning, but Lamar University answered with two in its half of the first and never looked back posting a 13-3 victory in seven innings to improve to 39-12 on the season. The victory moves Lamar within one win of its first 40-win season since 2004 as the Cardinals close the 2024 home campaign with a 24-4 mark at Vincent-Beck Stadium. The Orangefield High School Class of 2024 Valedictorian is Kaitlyn Jenkins and the Salutatorian is Logan Cheek Jenkins is a member of the volleyball team, National Honor Society, Interact Club, Art Club, and Student Council. LSCO’s Spring 2024 Commencement Breaks More Records

Lamar State College Orange hosted another record-breaking commencement on Friday, May 10 with 438 certificates and degrees awarded to 349 graduates. This represents an impressive 46% increase in the number of graduates over last year’s Spring commencement in May of 2023. The Spring class of 2024 carried an average GPA of 3.36 with 70% reporting as first-generation college graduates. Habitats Deployed At TBend

(Hemphill, TX) The Sabine River Authority of Texas (SRA) recently completed the 2024 Toledo Bend Artificial Fish Habitat Project. With assistance from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries Team over 200 fish habitat structures were deployed into Toledo Bend Reservoir. These artificial habitat structures have been scientifically studied and proven to be effective at attracting large numbers of fish. The goal of this project is to provide opportunities for successful fishing trips for the public when visiting Toledo Bend Reservoir. Melody Kay Fruge-Green was born on November 9th 1969 in Orange, Tx to Betty & Elgie Fruge. Melody attended Little Cypress Schools and graduated in 1988. OEF Donates To Jr. High

The Orangefield ISD Education Foundation donated $1,250 to Orangefield Jr. High to enhance the art program by purchasing a printing press. The donation was funded in part by the B.A. & E.W.
