On August 12, 2025, Orange County Sheriff’s Office Deputies conducted a traffic stop on FM 1442 between Bridge City and Orangefield. During the stop, deputies developed suspicion of criminal activity. A search of the vehicle revealed a large quantity of methamphetamines, cocaine, heroin, hydrocodone, and trazodone hydrochloride. Deputies also located digital scales, resealable bags, smoking pipes, and syringes. Stancoven Retires From Army
On 30 June 2025, Colonel (Dr.) Brian Stancoven retired after 21 years of faithful service to United States Army. A retirement ceremony was held on Ft. Gordon at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center’s Auditorium where he was awarded the Legion of Merit by the Surgeon General of the United States Army, Lieutenant General Mary Izaguirre. Charles Wayne Frazier, 84, of Vidor, passed away Wednesday, August 13th, 2025, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Waco, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and retired as a Maintenance Mechanic for Lyondell Basell in Beaumont. Bruce Michael Howell, 62, of Vidor, TX, passed away on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, at his residence. A native of Lucedale, LA, he was a longtime resident of Vidor and worked as a skilled pipefitter. Lillian Lucille Frugia died August 10, 2025 in Beaumont, Texas. She was born on July 8, 1925 in Beaumont, Texas to Sadie Rae Boudreaux Frugia and Lyman Frugia Sr. She lived most of her life in Vidor, Texas and graduated from Vidor High school in 1943. After graduation she lived in Houston, Texas briefly before returning to live with her parents in Vidor, Texas.
