Totals Dip On Wednesday
Voting in Orange County was steady Wednesday but down from the first two days of Early Voting in the May 28 runoff between incumbent Dade Phelan and David Covey for District 21 State Representative. We've also been keeping up with the voting in Jefferson County and Jasper County for this race. There were 1413 that voted Wednesday for a three day grand total of 4884. In Jasper County there were 495 that voted Wednesday for a total of 1828. And in Jefferson County they also saw a dip after the first two days. Orangefield jumped out early on Rockdale Wednesday evening and held on for a 4-1 win in Game One of their 3A Region III Semifinal. In the first, Caleb Fregia grounds out to score Cameron Dearing who reached on a single. Then Kyle Michael singled to score Logan Cheek who also reached on a single. OHS Students Sign With DOW Apprenticeship Program
The world-renowned DOW Corporation, East Texas Hub, offers acceptance into their apprenticeship program each year. The apprenticeship consists of hands-on work experience at one of DOW’s chemical plants, a company-paid associate’s degree from Lamar State College Orange, salary with competitive pay, paid holidays and vacation, medical insurance, and after 12 months of service a 401k plan. OC Leading In Early Voters
After two days of early voting in the May 28 runoff between State Representative Dade Phelan and challenger David Covey which county has seen the most voters? District 21 covers all of Orange County and Jasper County, along with some of Jefferson County. Orange County has had 3471 voters after two days. Jasper County has had 1333 early voters and Jefferson County's total is 3268 with three early voting days left. Does it matter how many votes each county turns in?
