Four Golds, Two Silver For OHS
Seventeen Orangefield band and choir students performed at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Festival in Pflugerville, TX on Monday. OHS walked away with 4 Gold Soloist medals and 2 silver Soloist medals! Gold Medalists were Cain Hawthorne(Marimba), Jayde Baggett(Vocal), Katelynn Copeland(Vocal), and Aiden Young(Vocal). Woman Dies In Head On Collision (UPDATE)
Update: Woman has been identified as Samantha Townsend. On Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 5:39 PM the Vidor Police Department received a call of a reckless vehicle that was described as a maroon Tahoe traveling Northbound in the 1400 block of N. Main, Vidor, Texas. At 5:40 PM the caller advised that the Tahoe had just struck a Nissan Rogue in the 1500 Block of North Main head-on. Upon Officers arrival they found both drivers unconscious. Stolen Trailers Recovered
Auto Theft Task Force Detectives & BPD Patrol Recover 3 stolen Trailers. On Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 11:25 am, Beaumont Police responded to the 3900 block of Treadway in reference to assisting the Orange County Sheriff’s Office with locating a stolen trailer from their agency. They also advised that the suspect may be driving an F250. BPD officers arrived and located the suspect vehicle along with a trailer that had been reported stolen in Beaumont earlier this morning. Home Burns In Cove
Saturday evening at approximately 6pm, Orange firefighters were called to 106 Nash St. for a house fire. OFD arrived to find the home burning with heavy smoke and flames. Mutual aid was brought in from West Orange and Little Cypress Fire. The home is a total loss according to Fire Marshal Randy Enner. Firefighters were able to save two cats but unfortunately a couple of others didn't survive. Bobcats, Lions Set Date
The Orangefield Bobcats will square off in a best of three series against the Franklin Lions this week at Lufkin High School. The winner goes to State. Game One is Thursday at 7p with Gm.2 on Friday at 7p. If Gm. 3 is necessary they will play Saturday at 4pm. Franklin (30-4) is the 20-3A Champion. After completing an undefeated district campaign they have defeated Rogers, Maypearl, Troy and Huntington. Two Shot At Apartments
Orange Police were called to Sunset Apartments for shots fired early Saturday morning. But when they arrived they didn't find any evidence of a shooting. During their investigation it was learned that a two males were in a car on Treemont Lane that had been shot up. Officers arrived to find two people with gunshot wounds and a Buick that was full of bullet holes. Further investigation proved that the shooting took place at the Pine Grove apartments at 2540 W.
