Man Arrested Near Restaurant
At 3:55 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, a concerned citizen reported two individuals possibly breaking into Cafe Del Rio at 2830 I-10 East. Responding officers found a man and a woman in the restaurant's tented patio area. The male suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended behind a nearby hotel. No evidence of burglary was found. The male suspect, Tommy Jones, 25, of Vidor, was arrested for evading and failing to identify and taken to Jefferson County Jail. The woman was identified and released.
