The Southeast Texas Coaches Assoc. held their All-Star games around Southeast Texas over the last three days and Orange County had several MVP performances. In the football game Friday, Taydren Perrault of WOS was voted the East Team MVP. In the softball game, no surprise that Bridge City's Carson Fall was named the MVP of the East. Fall will be headed to Kentucky to play for the Wildcats. Orange Woman Indicted For Running
An Orange woman was indicted by a Jefferson Co. Grand Jury this week after a chase with police. On May 5, Port Arthur Police noticed a red Mitsubishi with its flashers on, disregarding stoplights on Gulfway Dr. and traveling at a high rate of speed. When the officer tried to stop the vehicle it continued driving at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic to the point the officer lost the vehicle. He later located the vehicle and once again it was disregarding stop signs. Fire At Cove Apartments
Thursday afternoon the Orange Fire Dept. responded to a fire at Building 16 of the Cove Drive Apartments. Heavy smoke was coming from the residence when firefighters arrived. They had trouble getting inside the home because of the amount trash and debris inside. No one was inside and neighbors in the complex said the man that lived there had recently been evicted.
