Man Arrested After Standoff
On Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, at 1:10 PM, officers with the City of Orange Police Department were dispatched to the 7000 block of FM 1130 in reference to a suicidal subject. Upon arrival, officers were able to establish communication with the subject and began negotiations. Shortly after, the subject was detained without incident. After further investigation, the suspect was placed into custody for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. He has been identified as 60 year old Keith Reed. Single Vehicle Accident Takes Life
On June 16 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle accident on Green Moore Road near Doyle Cemetery Road in Starks. The initial investigation revealed a truck was traveling north on Green Moore Road when it crossed the centerline, running off the roadway and striking a tree. The driver of the truck, Shawn D. Orange Man Dies In Motorcycle Accident
On June 16, shortly after 1:00 p.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on Green Island Road in Starks. The initial investigation revealed the driver was traveling north on Green Island Road when he failed to negotiate a curve causing the motorcycle to run off the roadway. The driver Rick J. Hampton, 37, of Orange, was ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The fatality is still under investigation, but speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
