On Friday, June 21, 2024, around 1:00 pm., Officers responded to the 300 block of Austin in reference to a gunshot victim. When Officers arrived, they discovered a 21-year-old female with a single gunshot wound. Monday Morning Accident
The woman behind the wheel of this van told those at the scene that her brakes failed, causing her to hit a fence Monday morning just after 6am in Orange. It was reported she was traveling west on John St. and approached the 10th St. intersection. She went through the stop sign and while trying to turn left, went through the parking lot of a commercial property before going back across 10th, coming to a stop after hitting a fence at the corner of the West Orange Cove CISD Administration property. Tweedel Honored At VFW
US Army Private Ray Tweedel was awarded the French National Legion of Honor Medal for his participation in Operation Overlord. He landed on Utah Beach with the second wave of allied forces at Normandy on the evening of 7 June 1944. The medal presented by the French Consulate Saturday in Orange at the VFW Hall Post 2775. Thomas Richard Nobles, 53 of Pinehurst made his final trip on earth to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday June 18th, 2024. Born in Galveston, TX on February 17, 1971 to Emilia Rivas and Danny Nobles. Thomas grew up in Little Cypress where he attended LCM high school and played football. He was an iron worker and pipe fitter. He enjoyed traveling for work especially to Philadelphia where he climbed The Rocky Steps and to Washington D.C. to see the White House. The Sabine River Authority has raised all 11 gates to 1 foot after having just five open at 1 foot. This is because Toledo Bend went up to 172.70 Sunday morning. The full pool at TBend is 172.00.
